Kate Smith, MD, MPH

Dr. Smith serves as the program manager, clinical liaison, and student internship coordinator for the Delaware Academy of Medicine / Delaware Public Health Association. She has been the copy editor for the Delaware Journal of Public Health since 2019.

Dr. Smith previously served as the medical director for a private day school in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University (Nuclear Engineering, 2004), Xavier University School of Medicine (2011), and Arcadia University (Master of Public Health, 2015). She is a member of the American Public Health Association (APHA), the Penn State Alumni Association, Phi Sigma Rho National Sorority, the Delaware Medical Reserve Corps, and is a volunteer crew member of the Kalmar Nyckel (Delaware’s Tall Ship).

As copy editor of the DJPH, Dr. Smith is tasked with grammar and editorial edits to submitted articles, standardization of article formatting, and creating XML and PDF copies of all articles for archiving purposes. She also creates the issue lexicons and resources sections.

Dr. Smith has authored or co-authored several articles in the Delaware Journal of Public Health.
