Correction and Retraction

“To Err Is Human…”

Corrections are important to the integrity of the professional literature, and professionals rely on accurate data to further their fields.  Corrections of errors in published articles protect the reputation of authors, journals, and anyone else involved in the research process, and put the best interests of science first.

The DJPH has the following policies in place:

  • All articles must be submitted as final by 11:59 pm on the day of the submission deadline.
  • In general, no corrections will be accepted after the submission date.

Authors who wish to alert the editorial staff of the DJPH to a situation where a correction may be warranted are requested to contact the Managing Editor within one week of the issue going live. Relevant details (including journal issue, full citation of the article, and description of the error) should be e-mailed to ehealy@delamed.org. The editorial team will discuss any requested corrections and revise the online journal if warranted.

No revisions to articles, for any reason, will be made after the issue has been live for one week; after this time, corrections will be noted in the next issue of the journal, with the exception of the situation below:

  • If substantial errors appear in online articles, and these errors significantly affect the content or understanding of the work reported (e.g., error in data presentation or analysis), DJPH will publish a correction or retraction that will be linked to the original article.

Authors are encouraged to post comments to their articles to note typographical errors, and other problems that do not significantly affect the scientific integrity of the work.
